Hi! My name is Stevie Rachmuth. I live in Manhattan, am sixteen years old, and love to cook and bake. I started baking when I was five and started cooking not soon after. Whether it was from watching my mom, cousin, or the food network channel, I have learned countless recipes and cooking techniques that I would like to share with you.

Two years ago, The New Food Lover's Companion, by Sharon Tyler Herbst and Ron Herbst, was recommended to me.  This excellent book is an alphabetical food dictionary that covers everything from abalone to zwieback, and I now use this book for everything, from looking up spices, techniques, and even seasoning suggestions.  I hope everyone who looks at this website buys this book; I have even provided a link so that you can purchase the book effortlessly.  I knew a lot about spices and cooking/baking techniques before reading this book, but must admit that most of the glossary & spice guide definitions come from this book.  Aside from my relatives & the food network, I credit all other information on this website to The New Food Lover's Companion.
